My accomplishment in year 2007

My achievements and rewards in year 2007 -

1)Finally changed my status from Single to Married after one whole year of wedding preparations.

2) Got a B+ in my Advanced Electrical Machine paper.

3) Last but not least, I got my chance to work at site, Vietnam for one year starting from year 2008.

Initially, my boss came and told me that my mobilization date to site was in October, 2007 and it was a great misery to me.

What about my last minute wedding preparations and my final examination in Nov?
If I am going to site in October, I have to let go my final exam and accept a not-so-perfect wedding.

Thanks God for his grace that my boss has postponed my mobilization date to Jan, 2008.
Because of that, we have our memorable holy matrimony and also got my B+ in my electrical machine paper.

Thank you Father for your blessings throughout the year 2007.

Some of my favourite shots on our wedding day..

Our wedding on 3rd December 2007

Hooray, I have finally finished uploading our wedding pictures into the website. Ok, you may access those photos via www.mywedding.com/vinceandtracy

You know what, both of us regretted for not hiring a videographer. We have a friend to become our one-day videographer on that day. But there are many uncaptured scenes.
It is not his fault though.

We had 44 tables on that night and due to time constraint, we had to rush from one table to another table for ‘yam sing’. Some of our friends went out to the stage for karaoke and we did not even know about that until someone told us after that night.

Alright, our friend, Heng did not manage to capture that because he is following us to record our ‘yam sing’ session from table to table.

Some of our relatives said that do not need to ‘yam sing’ from table to table. But but…some of our friends purposely traveled from Singapore, Brunei, Sabah, JB, Melaka and Kelantan just to attend our wedding. It is not a good gesture if we did not even go to say hi.

Oh ya, we got Lexsmond (Geng gor) from the Tai Thong restaurant to become our Emcee on that night. Guess what, he is really a good emcee. We will give him 10/10 marks.
He can talk, sing and dance. And the important thing is, his songs are not those oldies like ‘tian mi mi’. He sang ‘sha la la’ on that night and other songs as well.

His charges is around RM188 for night session only. So anyone of you interested, you can find him at Royal China restaurant, Jalan Ampang. Highly recommended.

I got B+ !!

Wow, I am on top of the world now…
Guess what? I got B+ in my Advanced Electric Machine paper. I love you, professor for letting me pass.

Hehe, I could not believe my eyes when I saw the B+ on the screen. I thought maybe the system got problem and I have login wrongly to someone account.
Thanks God! Finally, I got a B+ in this paper. Phew…nightmare is over!

Unfortunately, I could not continue to my study for this coming semester due to my overseas job assignment. Yeah, I am going to Vietnam in this coming February.

Not a very nice to place to spend your next 12 months but one has no choice when come to earning money. Definitely is not a good place to stay because the site is located at a very remote area but the only impressive point is I can save a lot of money by staying there.

Company paid for accommodation, transport, and laundry. What other things that you want? Especially with the predictable petrol price hike in year 2008.

Yeah, my hubby is making noise nowadays that I will be leaving soon to Vietnam. Haha, I kept on telling him. No choices, unless he is willing to pay for all my expenses and I can be a full time housewife.

Wedding Banquet in Sandakan

Finally the wedding banquet in Sandakan is over.

We took an early flight to fly back to Sandakan on last saturday morning and the first thing I did when I have reached home were to drink 'tan ngan lou leong cha' (herbal drink). I got a very bad sore throat and my voice has became very sexxyy on that day.

Then at night, we have 150 people at home to celebrate my bachelorrete party and unfortunately, I do not even know more than half of them. Yeah, you are right. They are my parents friends. As long as they are happy...

But of course, some of my secondary schoolmates were there to celebrate with me.

Overall, I do quite enjoy the trip except my regret to be late to the restaurant for the banquet.

Initially my MUA arranged to come for the make-up session at 2pm because she had another bride at 4pm. Unfortunately, I were not feeling very well that day, high fever and I had to switch the time slot with the other bride.

The MUA suppose to reach my house at 4pm but because the first bride was late, my MUA only reached my house at 5pm. One hour late. :(

I have asked her to make-up my mum, mother in law, sister in law and my aunty first before she started mine. Or else, my mum will keep on mumbling at my ears...

Yeah, after all of them gone to restaurant, the MUA started to beautify me at 6pm and only manage to finish around 7.15pm. We reached the restaurant at 7.45pm. Kind of embrassing of being late.

Some of them may said that it is not very late because KL banquet normally start at 8pm or 8.30pm. But Sandakan is different. They start quite on time....

That is the only thing which made me very sad and regret....

"Wedding Day" by Bee Gees

We both acknowledge what we came here for
We take each other and walk through the open door
From the first time that I saw you
To the way you look tonightI was shaken by your spirit
I was blinded by your light

And the world that I used to see is gone without a trace
Replaced by your eyes and the smile upon your face
And I will not turn away
'Cause you might disappear
I was haunted by your heart
And I felt that you were here

And funny when the time is right
When lightning strikes
You're not alone
Baby, I will pray for you my whole life through
This day

We'll be together
Husband and wife
Now and forever
The rest of our lives
Well, take me to HeavenTake me tonight
There is nothing words can say
On this our wedding day

Oh, now is the hour, now is the sowing of the seed
I will take tomorrow
I will lay it at your feet
And the two of us escape from the sadness of the world
From the thunder and the darkness
From the hunger and the hurt

You know I will remember well the mission bell
That rings your name
And baby there could never be
A memory like you

We'll be together
Husband and wife
Now and forever
Lovers for life
Well, take me to Heaven
Take me tonight
There is nothing words can say
On this our wedding day

This is my pledge to you
I will follow through to the end
And we will find another plane
We'll be home again
And tonight I'm going to find true love, true love

We'll be together
Husband and wife
Now and forever
Lovers for life
Well, take me to Heaven
Take me tonight
There is nothing words can say
On this our wedding day

Chinese wedding taboos

Sometimes I really do not understand. Where do all these chinese rules and regulations come from? Some of them are just irrational - no logic at all.

This morning I had another argument with my soon to be mother in law.
She said that our bed need new bedsheet and we have to change it on 28th Nov at 1pm-2pm.

I do not have any objections but unfortunately, we will fly back from Sandakan to KL on 28th Nov itself and will only reach LCCT airport around 1pm. There is no way we can come back on time.

To me, if cannot make, then just ignore. It is kind of impossible not to have an everlasting marriage just because of that one sheet of bedsheet right?

Her plan is to change flight in order for her and my father in law to come back one day earlier.
Sigghh...all because of that BEDSHEET and thanks to those people who insist on this kind of taboo.

I got no eyes see. Let my fiancee settle it.

Oh ya, after change to new bedsheet, both my fiancee and I cannot sleep on the bed until our wedding day. Ridiculous!

At the edge

I do not realise until someone told me that I always live at the edge.

I have to sit for my Advanced Electrical Machine paper on this 18th Nov and we have to fly back to Sandakan, my lovely hometown on 24th Nov for our wedding banquet.

After the wedding banquet, we will come back to KL on 28th Nov and get ready for our BIG DAY on 3rd December 2007.

Yeah, schedule is tight and everything will happen almost at the same time.

Phewww...

Thanks god, I manage to take 3 days off in this week to get ready for the exam.
Hopefully I manage to squeeze everything into my brain within these three days....

Examination

This word does not exist in my life since four years ago.
I thought I will never have to use scientific calculator or to remember what is sine, cosine and tangent anymore.

Unfortunately, life is full of surprises and miracles.

Pre-wedding stress

In less than a month, I have to change my marital status from single to married.
We always think that there will not be much changes to our life after getting married because we have been together for near to 7 years.

Unfortunately it is not.

I have moved in to stay with him and his family since two weeks ago and maybe because we see each other everyday, there were arguments and we woke up feeling like 'old couple' or in cantonese called 'lou fu lou chai'.

The feelings are just weird..!

Uncle Lim

Uncle Lim is the founder of Genting Highland and also a very sucessful businessman in Malaysia and even around the world.

He started his journey of building Genting Highland when he was around 50 years old and he passed away peacefully yesterday at the age of 90 years old (my condolence to the family). Within a short period of 40 years old, he is known as world's class millionaire.

It makes me think that it is indeed a very short period for one to enjoy the fortune that he/she has made.
We can bring nothing with us when we leave this world but we can leave something behind.

Then I start to ask myself..what do I want to leave behind? What kind of person do I want people to remember me ? Someone who has contribute to their life or..?

Congratulation...!

Bravo Tracy...!

Finally I took the first step to register a blog account. I used to write diary but I guess writing something online is more fun. At least, there is someone out there reading my blog. :)

I always wanted to record my life journey so that I have something to show to my children and grandchildren next time. Who knows..I might be someone who is big and important in the history and my next generation would like to know more about this city wife...

Yeah, my wedding is just two months away from now and I am struggling with all the preparations. Just to let you know, my fiance is at the other part of the world working hard to earn penny for our wedding preparations and I am here thinking hard on how to spend those hard on money...

Kind of bad ya? But what to do....that is how chinese wedding like. This one is a must and that one is a must.

Alright, I am actually one of them as well. I want that and I want this...who doesn't want that? It is once in a life time right? Who doesn't want to be the most beautiful bride and has the memorable wedding??

Sigghh....getting marry is never an easy taskk..wish me good luck...
